The “storm” came and went with a whimper.
There is only about half an inch of snow on the ground and by days end, it will probably be gone.
Yesterday, I wrote about how preparation is important to your sales success and used the metaphor of folks in Atlanta preparing for “the big storm.”
Time for a dose of reality this cold day.
You can prepare, work your arse ass off and not get the results you desire. Sometimes, you fall flat on your face.
So what do you do when things don’t work out for you?
It’s okay to be down for a little bit. That’s natural and human. But after that, take time learn from what happened and then get back it with full muster. Hit it hard and hard again and hard again. You will get the win you’re looking for and reclaim your mojo.
One of the best ways to get your mojo back is to take MASSIVE ACTION.
When I was really struggling entertainer, my confidence was very low. I was thinking of giving up. But then I got myself fired-up and yes, angry about my situation. I said, “F**ck it” and went to work. I didn’t one thing to get out my funk. I did multiple things simultaneously.
I hit it hard with faith. By that I mean, I didn’t worry about my initial results. I knew that there would be lag time between when my actions and results. I just kept at it.
In less than 90 days, I went from doing three shows a month to averaging 25. In month four I did 57 shows. That’s more than I was doing in an entire year.
I don’t mean I didn’t monitor results from my activity. A lot of stuff I did didn’t work. I stopped doing that stuff. But a number of things worked well and and a few things rocked it. But I wouldn’t have got to what worked, if I hadn’t kept on keeping on.
I don’t know what, as the late Jim Rohn said, “what season of life” you are in right now. But if it’s winter time then realize that spring always follows winter – always. What’s exciting is that you can make spring come much faster by getting to work.
