You think you have a tough job?
My stepson Zac is knocking doors this summer selling alarm systems in the hot Florida sun.
During his first week, he had some beginner’s luck and closed three sales in a week. Then reality hit hard, and he was shut out for two weeks.
Did he quit? Helz to the no!
He kept his mindset positive by embracing some of Tommy Hopkin’s attitudes towards “failure.” For example:
I never see failure as failure, but only as a learning experience.
I never see failure as failure, but only as the negative feedback, I need to change course in my direction.
I never see failure as failure, but only as the opportunity to practice my techniques and perfect my performance.
I never see failure as failure, but only as the opportunity to develop my sense of humor.
Zac kept practicing his approach, his script, and his close.
Last week, he ended up with three sales, and he’s already closed two this week.
The lessons are obvious. The question is, will you embrace them?
Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
