You’ve heard the saying, “We teach what we most need to learn,” right?
For years, before it was fashionable, I taught that you need to have a morning ritual. I’ve tried many different versions, including the ones outlined in the outstanding books The Miracle Morning and The Perfect Day Formula.
But at some point this year, I got caught up as legendary Stephen Covey would say, “in the thick of thin things,” and stopped doing my morning routine altogether. Instead, I would get up, groggily stumble into my office, check my emails, which is the worst thing you can do first thing in the morning, and get to work.
I had lost control over the beginning of my day.
Two weeks ago, I recommitted myself to doing my morning ritual come hell or high water. The results are already noticeable, including getting more work done during the day with less stress.
Of course, one of the significant benefits of disciplining yourself to follow a morning ritual is the discipline itself. Following through on promises you make to yourself builds confidence.
Create a morning ritual for yourself. Keep it simple at first, and then add to it. I guarantee the results will amaze you.
Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
