The other day, I went through the dude’s funnel where he teaches you how to close high-ticket sales.
His webinar was good. He talked about how you don’t need to use high-pressure techniques. His call to action was to apply for a free strategy session.
That’s when it went downhill.
When you call, you’re put on the phone with a “phone shark” who uses every high-pressure, manipulative sales technique on the planet.
The experience was the complete opposite of what the guru preached. But, unfortunately, that’s nothing new. A slew of the gurus don’t walk their talk.
Here’s the truth about high-ticket closing…
You do NOT need to use high-pressure strategies to close the sale.
I don’t use them. Never have. Never will.
And I close sales in the $12,500 – $50,000 range, often with a single call.
Here’s my process:
- A prospect ends up in DEEworld in one way or another. They see me speak, hear me interviewed on a podcast, watch a webinar, or enter my funnel through my short-form webinar.
- They schedule a call with me to discuss how and if I can help them. I do not do “strategy sessions.” Instead, when I talk to someone, it’s about whether or not we should work together.
- If we decide to work together during the call, I either send a summary via email with a payment link or, if I am doing custom work, I send an email with an “action plan” that includes the price.
Notice that I don’t use high-pressure to get the credit card during the call with the prospect. Instead, I close with a follow-up email. Yes, that goes against what the “hardcore closers” teach, but it works.
In fact, I recently closed a 30K plus 5K a month contract with a client via email. In September’s Inner Sanctum VIP masterclass, I give the email and do a deep-dive analysis of it, so anyone who sells high-ticket items can model it.
If you’re not a VIP yet and you sell via consultation, now would be the perfect time to join us.
