If you’re still selling features and benefits…
You’re playing at the lowest level of persuasion.
Here’s the hierarchy most professionals never learn:
- Features – What it is
- Benefits – What it does
- Outcomes – What they get
- Transformation – Who they become
Weak sellers stay at levels 1 and 2.
Decent ones hit level 3.
But the pros? They lead with level 4.
Example:
Feature: Quarterly tax planning reviews
Benefit: Stay on top of new strategies and deductions
Outcome: Minimize tax liability and save thousands
Transformation: Become the business owner who’s in full control of their finances, always a step ahead, and never caught off guard by Uncle Sam again.
That’s what they’re buying.
Not the meeting, plan, or spreadsheet.
They’re buying certainty, power, and peace of mind.
So here’s your Friday challenge:
Look at your pitch.
Circle the features.
Underline the benefits.
Then highlight every transformation.
If you can’t find any?
Add them in and watch your results skyrocket.
