I read this today on www.fmylife.com:
“Today, at an aunt’s wake, my five-year-old son walked up to the coffin and, with the whole family around him, exclaimed, “Well, that’s good, I was wondering where she’s been.”
Come on, now. That’s funny.
I get asked whether or not you need to be funny during a webinar or in-person presentation.
The answer is no, you don’t have to be funny, but it sure helps if you make the audience laugh. There are scientific studies that show that laughter will increase your sales. (You can Google that if you want more details.)
But what do you do if you aren’t naturally funny?
Simple. Add humor to your slides.
A well-selected picture can make the audience chuckle without you having to do anything.
For example, here’s a picture I bought a license to use in almost all my presentations.
Unless you have a heart made out of stone, my guess is that picture made you at least smile.
Pictures of kids, animals doing funny stuff, weird baby expressions, and cartoons that make a point are excellent to include in your slides.
Not only will they make your audience laugh, but the pictures will also make your presentation more entertaining, leading to higher conversions.
