Happy Monday, DEEmail subscriber friend ‘o mine!
Here’s a quote from the late great sales trainer and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar.
“Stop selling. Start helping.”
Let that sink in for a minute.
I polled the audience during a sales training event I did last week about whether or not they loved selling. About half said that they loved it. The other half didn’t like it or felt it was a necessary evil.
How about you?
Many professionals don’t like selling because they think of the old-school, fast-talking, high-pressure salesperson who says or does anything to get the sale. Sadly some sales trainers still teach that kind of selling.
As a professional, your job isn’t to “convince” anyone to buy your service. Instead, it’s to educate prospects, find out what they want and need, and show how you can help them get their desired outcome.
I’m sure you love helping clients, right?
That’s what professional selling is.
On Thursday, I’m releasing a new on-demand training where I’ll share my “consultations that close” framework to help you turn more prospect meetings into sales. It’s free but will only be available for a limited time.
More details to follow.
