I came across this excellent article by Carmine Gallo, published by Inc., revealing how master presenter Steve Jobs prepared for his now-iconic presentations. You can read the full article here.
Interestingly, the tips echo what I wrote about practice and rehearsal in yesterday’s DEEmail, but the final sentence of the article sums up how I approach and teach about, creating and delivering presentations that sell:
“By treating keynote presentations like theatrical performances–and by rehearsing like stage performers do–Jobs elevated the business presentation to an art form.”
Exactly.
I prepare for my one-to-many sales presentations the same way I do when putting together one of my transformational entertainment shows.
You add the all-important entertainment factor by thinking about and preparing your webinars or in-person group presentations as shows and performances. Couple entertainment with quality information (Infotainment), and you will increase your conversions and get more clients.
