But I’m not funny…

An Elite Mastermind asked me what she could do to inject humor into her presentations because she’s not naturally funny.

You can open with a simple joke that smoothly transitions into a point you want to make.

Here are three examples;

  1. “Why did the smartphone go to therapy? It was feeling disconnected! Speaking of smartphones, please ensure yours is on in silent mode.”

  2. “Why did the math book look sad? Because it had too many problems. – The three big problems I’ll help you solve today are…”

  3. “Why don’t some couples go to the gym? Because some relationships don’t work out. – But today, I will share three tips to strengthen your relationship with your spouse (Clients, prospects, etc.)

If your audience doesn’t laugh at your humor, simply add, “As you can tell, I’m not a comedian,” before the transition.

A joke about your industry also works well. For example, a lawyer telling a lawyer joke is inherently funny.

But the easiest way to add humor to your presentation is to incorporate humorous images on your slides. A funny picture you’re audience doesn’t expect will make them laugh without you having to do a thing.

Make your audience laugh, and you’ll sell more products, services, or ideas.

Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
