To all my American brothers and sisters, Happy Independence Day. Are we blessed to live in this great country, or what?
Seriously.
I am spending the holiday at a stunningly serene bed and breakfast in the mountains of Helen, GA. The wife and I are going to the wineries and hiking to waterfalls. It doesn’t get much better than that.
If you don’t live in the States, hopefully, you still live in a society where you can pursue your dreams and goals. You’re free to travel where you want when you want. You’re free to start a business and profit from it.
There is so much to be grateful for, but we can lose sight of that with our everyday struggles and reading about another atrocity committed by evil people. The fact is that for every act of terror, hundreds of acts of compassion and kindness go unheard of.
Yes, some people want to take away our freedom and independence, but in the end, good will conquer evil, as always. But we cannot take our freedom and independence for granted.
So today, as you enjoy time with your family, remember the brave people who paved the path of freedom for us. Let’s be grateful for all we have. And let’s reflect on all the goodness that surrounds us.
Have a wonderful day.
