Unethical?

Do you think using mind control techniques, hypnotic language that bypasses people’s conscious defenses, and other underground influence strategies to get people, including prospecting clients, to bend to your will is unethical?

Please think about it for a minute.

Many people immediately think that is unethical, but let’s dig deeper.

Let’s say you’re current lifestyle is leading you down a path to disease and death. Would you want your doctor to use every persuasion and influence strategy to convince you to change your way?

Podcaster and multi-millionaire entrepreneur Ed Mylett tells a story about how his doctor influenced him to change his lifestyle by painting a picture of another man walking his daughter down the aisle and living with his wife in Ed’s home because he would be dead if he didn’t make dramatic changes.

Was that manipulative and unethical?

Wouldn’t you want your doctor to do that?

The difference between manipulation and persuasion is intent.

If someone uses powerful techniques and systems solely for their gain, without regard to what’s in the other person’s best interest, that is unethical and manipulative.

On the other hand, if they act in a fiduciary role and use the same techniques and systems to influence someone to do what’s in that person’s best interest, that is noble.
