On Saturday, I watched my daughter get married.

It was a beautiful ceremony—unconventional, non-traditional, and full of heart.

When she was a little girl, I imagined a very different kind of wedding. Not because I had expectations for her, but because, as a parent, you paint a picture in your mind. You frame your child’s future through the lens of your own past.

But what I experienced on Saturday was something else entirely.

The love between her and her partner was deep. Unmistakable. And the community surrounding them? Fierce in their support. Present. Joyful.

It reminded me that the path to fulfillment, whether in life or business, isn’t always the one we envisioned.

But when it’s true… you know.

And that’s something I see often with the professionals I mentor.

They built something that “should” work.

They followed the rules. Checked the boxes. Stayed within the lines.

But it doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t flow. It doesn’t give them the freedom they thought success would bring.

So here’s today’s reminder:

If the life you want doesn’t fit the business you’ve built, you don’t have to burn it down…

You can redesign it.

You can build something that reflects who you are now—not who you were when you started.

Actionable tip:

This week, set aside 30 minutes. Take out a blank sheet of paper and ask yourself:

“If I were starting from scratch today, what would I not bring with me?”

Write it down. That’s where clarity starts.
