On Sunday afternoon, our friends Todd and Erica invited us to something I’ve never done before:
An adult Easter egg hunt.
No joke.
Real competition.
I didn’t find the golden egg.
But I did find something else—Todd’s collection of fine wine. So all in all… I came out ahead.
Now, here’s the thing:
The person who found the golden egg?
They weren’t the fastest or the most aggressive.
They were just consistent.
They stuck with the search. They didn’t wander off. They didn’t give up after five minutes.
Which brings me to your business…
Most professionals lose high-value leads in the same way.
They get a lead… maybe two… then?
Crickets.
They fumble the follow-up, assume the lead wasn’t that interested, and hope someone reaches out again eventually.
The “golden egg” is left sitting in the grass.
Meanwhile, someone else scoops it up.
Here’s your simple action tip for today:
Pick one lead you haven’t followed up with in a while… and do it today.
Not with a “just checking in” message.
Send them something useful. Entertaining. Personal. Valuable.
Even a short message like:
“Hey, saw this and thought of you…”
Or:
“This reminded me of our last convo…”
Just reopen the loop.
Like the Easter egg, the value is still there. You just have to go pick it up.
Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
