I have a confession to make.
I’m at a luxury resort in the north Georgia mountains. Karen and I will be indulging in massages and visiting wineries over the next few days. And yes, Georgia has a lot of excellent wineries.
The truth is, I wrote this DEEmail along with the rest of them on Monday morning. My amazing executive assistant then put them into Keap and, viola, they automatically going out to you.
Automation is a beautiful thing; however, you don’t always want to rely on technology to do it.
My friend and living legend Dean Jackson teaches a concept he calls “human automation.” Those are essential processes in your business that can’t be done with technology but that you should not be doing.
An example is the process for my daily DEEmails. All I need to do is write them, and then my Airize takes them, puts them into Keap, puts them on my blog, makes them look pretty, and posts them to Facebook and LinkedIn.
Because I have this “human automation” process set up, I can focus only on what I do best – writing the DEEmails – everything else is “automatically” taken care of for me.
Here’s an exercise I’d like you to do:
- Write down everything you do in your business daily.
- Look at the list and put a checkmark next to the things that only you can do. You must be ruthlessly honest with yourself. Ask, “Am I the only person who can do this?”
- Pick one item on your list that you should not be doing and either use technology or “human automation” to ensure it gets done.
- Repeat step #3 until everything not checked on your list is off your plate.
Do that and watch your productivity soar and your stress level decrease.
Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
