There are two types of motivation: moving towards and moving away from.
Most people are more inspired to take action by moving away from motivation.
The twin motivating forces are pain and pleasure.
Most people will do more to avoid pain than they will to gain pleasure.
A preacher who wants people to repent can give a sermon on how to get to heaven or avoid the fires of hell.
Hellfire is a more motivating force than heaven.
Prospective clients want to work with you because they have a problem and are looking for a solution. They are in pain and want the prescription to relieve it.
If you’re selling a preventative solution, you need to get your prospects to feel the fires of hell burning their skin.
If they’re already in there, you need your prospects to acknowledge that they want to get out of hell because of what it’s cost them and that the gap between hell and heaven is one that you can help them traverse.

Also, if you missed yesterday’s live training about a new system that puts prospects on your calendar who are primed to work with you instead of just “calling around to get information” or to “pick your brain,“ all is not lost.
There isn’t a replay; however, I recorded a 21-minute condensed version that gives you the details about the system and the small group workshop I’m starting next week, where we’ll create the system together.
