We flew our designer to Marco to put some finishing touches on our new home.
Jo designed a home for me in Atlanta before I met Kalia, the home we built together in Atlanta and our home in Marco. She’s ultra-talented, and we marvel at her seemingly spontaneous creativity.
But there is a method to her madness.
Total focus.
Kalia explained that when shopping with Jo, she needs to be quiet and not talk to her. No interruptions are allowed as Jo’s creative brain generates ideas, sorts through them, rejects many, and then decides what to buy. Everyone needs to let her do her thing when she’s in the zone.
Many business owners do the opposite by allowing themselves to be interrupted by others, by the draw of social media, and other distractions. Their day ends with them being tired, wondering where the hours went, and frustrated because they didn’t get things done that would have helped increase their revenue.
(Full disclosure: As I wrote that, I just got distracted by a video.)
Maybe you already have your time management system down pat and are immune from distractions. I have a productivity system that gives me “deep work” focused time, but I’ve been lax about implementing it.
It’s time for me to get back on track. How about you?
Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
