Nineteen years ago, I was sitting in an audience of about 10,000 people in Atlanta at a now defunct Peter Lowe Success seminar. (Basically a motivational speaker rally with a whole bunch of stuff being sold.)

I was dead broke, had a failing business and was on the verge of having to get a "real job" which, of course, would have blown chunks. 

The last speaker on the program was a guy I had never heard of. Some dude, named Dan Kennedy.

I was tired and wanted to go home, as did a throng of other people who were heading for the doorways. But Kennedy told us that we should stay, pay attention, take notes – because by leaving now, we would just be stuck in traffic.

So I sat back down, dutifully opened my notebook and started taking copious notes. And the rest is history.

Fast forward to three years ago, I am asked to create a webinar for a new version of the product Dan sold to me at the Success seminar. (Incidentally, I was the co-creator of this updated and improved product.)

That webinar has produced over a million dollars in sales and counting – all on autopilot.

One of the secrets I used is what I've been telling you about all week: Compliance.

At the very beginning of the webinar, I do the exact thing Dan did at his live presentation – basically tell people to pay attention and take notes.

You want to tell people to shut down their email, to not surf the Internet and to pay close attention because what you're about to reveal to them is so important that they don't want to miss a minute of it.

And then, throughout your presentation you want to instruct people to "write this down", "listen carefully", "think about this…". etc. You want to keep them engaged and get them to do what you tell them to do. The result will be more sales.
