I pursued some YouTube videos by “sales gurus” the other day.
All of them showed the gurus using high-pressure tactics to close supposed sales over the phone. They basically browbeat their prospects into submission.
The fanboys fawned over these techniques in the comments and wanted to learn to be hardcore closers, too.
The truth about “pressure” is you should create internal pressure in the prospect so they are compelled to buy and not use old-school high-pressure sales tactics.
When your prospects feel internal pressure to buy, there is little resistance. When you pressure them, their guards go up.
Professional selling isn’t about strong-arming your prospect into buying. It’s about using structure and language so the prospect is compelled to buy.
Tomorrow, I’ll share with you a simple technique that creates internal pressure for the prospect to invest in your product or service.
