On Monday, I outlined a simple but highly effective system that will get you more appointments with A-list prospects in 2023 and beyond.
Here it is:
Step #1: Identify precisely who your target market is and what piece of information they would love to get access to.
Step #2: Create a simple, dedicated landing page offering the information in exchange for their name and email address.
Step #3: Deliver the information in an easy-to-consume format.
Step #4: Drive traffic to the landing page.
Step #5: Follow up with all leads with an email with a personal feel.
Step #6: Send at least one infotaining email per week to your prospects.
Step #7: Do a live webinar once a month on a topic that would benefit your prospective clients.
Today, we’ll do a deeper dive into step #1.
The key to attracting prospective clients is to know who you want to attract. For example, suppose you’re a financial advisor who wants to attract prospects with one million to three million dollars in investible assets. In that case, your lead generation marketing should make that crystal clear.
Business owners should be careful with casting too wide of a net. Instead, remember that lead generation marketing should attract your ideal prospects and dissuade unqualified prospects from responding.
Once you know who you’re targetting, you need to decide what information your prospects would love to get their hands on. You want a “lead generation magnet” that is unique. Returning to our financial advisor example, offering a dinner seminar about retiring worry-free, at best, isn’t going to maximize your results, and at worse, it turns you into a commodity because you appear to be the same as 99% of other advisors.
Ask yourself, “What big problem would my target market like to solve that my competitors aren’t addressing?” Or, ask, “What juicy information would my target market like to get their hands on that my competitors aren’t offering?”
By combining a specific target market with information your target market would love to have that others aren’t offering, prospecting becomes easier.

P.S. I’ve been getting questions like this, “I’m thinking about joining the Inner Sanctum, but will what you teach work for (insert business type.).”
If you need to generate appointments and convert prospects into clients, the Inner Sanctum will work for you, provided you implement the strategies I share and ask for help from the community and me when needed.
For example, the January issue of the print “Sales Arcana” newsletter contains little-known but effective strategies from marketing and sales legends. If you use any one of the strategies, you’ll increase your sales. Then if you have questions, you can join us for your Q&A call.
The question is not whether Inner Sanctum will work for you; it’s whether you’ll work it.
If your answer is “yes,” then you can get more details about the membership here:
