I got acupuncture this week.
It was part of the package I selected at the stunning Kamalya resort. (If you want to go to a wellness resort, I highly recommend it.)
I once thought “needles” and “relaxation” didn’t belong in the same sentence.
Wrong.
I walked in, skeptically optimistic, and was greeted by a practitioner who exuded calm, confidence, and competence. She explained everything—what each point would do, how it worked, and how I would feel.
Ten minutes later, I looked like a human pincushion. But here’s the thing: I didn’t feel a thing. In fact, as I lay there, I felt this overwhelming sense of calm wash over me.
When it was over, I walked out of the office feeling like I was floating on air—more zen than I’ve been in years.
And it hit me. I wouldn’t have let her stick a single needle in me if she hadn’t established one critical thing first: credibility.
Think about it: If she hadn’t come across as knowledgeable, confident, and experienced, I’d have been out the door faster than you can say “meridian points.”
The same is true for your business.
Your prospects won’t “trust you with the needles” (or their business) unless you demonstrate credibility. And it’s not just about having the right qualifications—it’s about communicating your expertise in a way that makes them feel at ease and confident in your abilities.
Here’s how you can do that:
- Speak confidently and clearly about your process—people trust those who can articulate what they do and why it works.
- Share proof of your success, whether it’s case studies, testimonials, or data. Nothing builds credibility faster than results.
- Be consistent in how you show up. When your prospects see that you deliver value regularly, they’ll start seeing you as the go-to authority.
Because let’s face it: If your prospects aren’t convinced you’re credible, they’ll never take the next step with you.
I’m still feeling zen after my acupuncture session, and now I’m a believer.
The question is, are your prospects ready to believe in you?
Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
