My Shocking Confession

I can’t believe I’m admitting this. If it gets out, it might ruin my reputation. But here goes…

Yesterday I went with Karen and got a…

Man-Pedi.

If you don’t know what that is, it’s a manicure and a pedicure.  And, damn, it was awesome.

When I first walked in, I was uncomfortable. Then I couldn’t figure out how to use the massage chair. After that, all the water drained out of the little tub where you soaked your feet.

Everyone else in the place was chillin’. I clearly was not good at the whole mani-pedi experience. But then, something amazing happened…

I figure out how to work the chair. Then two smiling women started working on my hands and feet with various lotions, waxes, and the like. By the time I had been scrubbed, massages, and made to look awesome, I had become VERY good at the mani-pedi thing.

Heck, as I’m typing this to you, I’m admiring the buff on fingernails. Just for the record, I did NOT get a clear coat on the ole nails. I was told I had beautiful nails, and they were just naturally shiny, so there.

What is the point of my grooming tale of relaxation and joy? Simply this:

Whenever you try something new, it is going to seem awkward. You’ll probably be uncomfortable and maybe not like it. But, as you continue to do it, you’ll get better at it, perhaps even like it and enjoy the results.

So, if you’re not selling one to many yet, now is the time to take the plunge. It might not be as fun as getting a mani-pedi, but you’ll love the results you see in your bank account. (And you’re going to need the DEEnero, especially you plan on making going to the salon a habit.)

Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
