What do you love doing?
Are you doing it?
Two-important questions you need to answer honestly.
I’m re-reading the late Stephen Covey’s seminal book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” It has a deeper meaning for me at 50 than it did when I first read it in my 30’s.
A major part of the book is about creating a personal mission statement. As part of this process, you answer questions that help you discover your passion and leverage that to be a positive force in the world.
Here are a couple excerpts from my personal mission statement:
I am at my best when I am on stage speaking, teaching, entertaining, selling, motivating and inspiring others.
And…
I will find opportunities to use my natural talents and gifts of speaking entertaining, educating, making people laugh and writing.
If you’ve never created a real personal mission statement or haven’t revisited it in awhile, then I recommend you block off an hour this week and start the process.
