I’m Vibing And It’s Fire

Oh, the crazy kids these days.

When they connect with someone, they say they’re “vibing.”

When something is exciting or outstanding, it’s “fire.”

Don’t get me going about how they use the word “like” in front of every sentence. (That one drives me nuts.)

Having to translate what the younger generation is trying to say is a sign I’m getting older. (And don’t even get me going on what they’re calling music these days.)

Are you using industry insider language that your prospects don’t understand or need to figure out what you mean?

For example, my doctor is brilliant, and he gets so excited when talking about health that he starts describing what’s going on inside my body at a level that’s way above my understanding. (Yes, I am known as Dr. Dee, but I’m sure not a real one!)

Using language that’s commonplace to you but not to your prospects is a fast way to suppress the response to your marketing and kill sales.

Some prospects will be embarrassed and act like they understand what you’re saying when they don’t, and some will get annoyed.

If people don’t understand you or you make them feel stupid, they won’t buy from you.

So chill out and ensure your prospects get what you’re putting down.
