Yesterday, I had a unique experience of speaking in front of 50 magicians at an event my long-time student Brad Ross put on.
Fifteen years ago this month, Brad attended one of my first “Bootcamps” for magicians, became a successful illusionist for Disney, and ended up buying my information business for magicians.
During my presentation yesterday, I taught the principles of direct response marketing and sales. It was ironic that I need to convince the entertainers that their business was no different than any other service business. That’s precisely what I do when I am speaking before other service business owners when I tell my core story about being a successful magician.
The thought most business owners have when hearing a new idea is, “That won’t work for me because…” Successful business owners, on the other hand, think, “How can I make that work for me?”
The truth is that your most significant breakthroughs are going to come from applying ideas and strategies from outside your industry.
