Yesterday morning, it hit me like a ton of bricks.
How could I have made such a fundamental mistake? I know this stuff. Heck, I teach this stuff.
I realized that I had wasted hours for two-days learning about how to set-up complicated Facebook campaigns and trying to do it myself.
I was frustrated, tired, and overwhelmed because I had other work that needed to get done.
Here’s the kicker:
I just hired someone who I’m paying $5,000 a month to do all of my social media marketing. They hadn’t started working yet, and I wanted to get things moving.
When I finally realized the error of my ways and stopped screwing around with something that was way outside my area of genius, and got back to working on what I’m good at, the frustration, overwhelm, and feeling of tiredness disappeared. I was once again in the “zone.”
As entrepreneurs, we wear many hats; however, if we want to take our businesses to the next level and grow our sales, we need to put a lot of those hats on other people’s heads.
We have a limited amount of time, energy, and quite frankly, talent. No one on the planet can do everything at an exceptional level. What’s exciting is there is no shortage of highly talented people who can do all the stuff you’re not good at nor should be doing.
How about you? What activities are you engaged in that are outside your area of genius? Who can you get to do those things for you?
Have a great weekend.
