Happy, Monday kemosabe!
Over the weekend, my daughter and I went to see one of my favorite performers, Melissa Etheridge. (As an aside, I must say that there weren’t a lot of folks in my demographic at this concert 🙂 )
Melissa had performed the night before in Nashville and told the crowd that Atlanta was the final stop on her summer tour. (As another aside, several years ago I went to see her perform in Atlanta and then drove to Nashville the next day to watch her again. Yep, I’m a big fan.)
Melissa rocked it as she always does, and we had a great time.
After the show, I thought about how grueling a concert tour must be and how there have to be nights that a rockstar just doesn’t feel like getting back on stage. But that’s what the real pros do, and it’s one of the reasons why their fans come back to see them perform time and time again.
It’s not much different for successful entrepreneurs.
Running a business can be exhilarating, but also grueling at times. There are days when we’re not going to want to “go into the office” and give it our all.
But, if you’re a pro, you kick-ass anyway for three reasons:
First, because your team, your family, and your customers deserve your best.
Second, your sales are going to suffer if you don’t perform at the highest level.
Third, is for the love of the craft and the respect you have for what you do. Melissa loves and has a passion for what she does. It doesn’t matter how she’s feeling, or whether or not she wants to get on stage one more time.
Ask yourself today, regardless of what you’re doing, “Am I giving it my all? Am I being a rockstar entrepreneur?”
Let’s make it a great week.
