The late great “Prince of Print,” Gary Halbert taught a four-step process for writing copy that produced astonishing results. And because I’m a sweetheart of a guy, I’m sharing it with you here.
- Create a “features sheet.” This includes all the features of the event down to minor details.
- Create a “benefits” sheet that has all of the corresponding benefits. Included with this will be all the reasons why someone should buy your service or set up an appointment with you.
- Create an “offer sheet” that contains all of the details about what you’re selling, including pricing, payments, guarantees, bonuses, etc.
- Create an”objections sheet” that lists all the reasons someone would not take you up on your offer.
I am humbly adding the following fifth step to the process:
- Create an “outcome and transformation sheet.” This contains specific outcomes people will attain by buying from you and the major transformation that happens.
At this point, you’re ready to start writing your first draft.
