Ouch!
I was playing this super-fun frisbee game on the beach. My kids were surprised that I was pretty darn good at it.
Then I hurt my right knee.
I wish I could tell you that I did it running and diving to make a spectacular play, but the truth is, I squatted down awkwardly to pick up the frisbee and heard a popping-like sound.
There was a little pain but nothing major until I woke up in the middle of the night in excruciating pain.
The next day, my son Dr. Jake examined my knee and told me he didn’t think I caused serious damage, to take Tylenol and lay off any crazy yoga poses for a few days.
If getting injured picking something up off the beach isn’t a sign of getting older, I don’t know what is!
Here is a quote about getting older. I’m paraphrasing because I don’t recall who the author is:
“You are only old when you stop believing in and pursuing your dreams.”
That’s beautiful, isn’t it?
And oh so true.
Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
