Whew! I have been on a world-wind ride the past couple of weeks.
First, I did a Google Hangout with my buddy Frank Kern. Not only did I sell over $65,000 worth of stuff, I also gave Kern an impromptu lesson on using Google Hangout as a sales tool while in the live Google Hangout.
Then I was on the air for five hours straight interviewing top flight experts and sold over six figures worth of stuff. Most of the sales pouring in during the last half an hour. In fact, we doubled sales in the last 30 minutes. I’ll tell you how, in just a second.
The next day, I conducted a two-day GKIC Fast Start Implementation bootcamp, followed by another Google Hangout on productivity in the evening of the second day.
I jetted off to Cleveland a day later for four hours on the air live with Dan Kennedy.
It was crazy, exhausting and exciting. (If you’re interested in learning about how to keep your sales energy up, let me know and if there is enough interest, I’ll write about it.)
Okay, let’s talk about the Ask the Experts day.
Here’s the truth – we were sucking wind until the last 30 minutes. But in the last half an hour, we more than doubled sales. What happened?
I did a 30 minute close totally off the cuff. Here is why it worked:
- Unwavering belief in what I was selling. Do you really feel that way about what you sell?
- Take away selling. Honestly telling the viewers who the product was NOT for? Do you use this strategy? If not, how can you?
- Focus on transformation not on features. I talked very little about the components of the product and a lot about the transformation a buyer would experience from using the product. Are you talking about features or transformation?
- Keeping my eye on sales. I could see how many people were buying and I kept closing until sales started slowing down. Are you monitoring your sales presentations so you don’t close too late or talk yourself out of a sale by not know when to close?
I’ve got a bunch more speaking gigs coming up. I’ll pass on more tips based on what I learn from doing these.
Kick butt, make mucho “DEEnero!”
