It’s “hump-day,” grasshopper.
Never understood that term. I guess it only applies to people who don’t love what they do. Sure, I like the weekend as much as the next guy but I also love working during the week as well.
How ’bout you?
Anyhoo, today I want to talk to you about a big mistake that is costing you a bunch ‘o sales. By the way, it doesn’t matter is you’re selling one-to-one or one-to-many, this mistake applies.
I’m talking about giving too much information.
Oftentimes, we are so fired-up about our product or service that we want to tell our prospects everything about it.
The problemo is: They don’t care.
What they want to know is how our product will help them solve their problem and get the results they desire.
You want to give them enough information so they’re sold that your product will get them what they want- and no more.
Giving out too much information is a mistake that platform salespeople make. Their belief is if they just give out a lot of quality “content”, people will be so overwhelmed with the value they’ve received, that they’ll buy. But the fact is, the opposite happens.
Either the prospect is overwhelmed by the amount of information they received or they feel that they’ve received so much information that they don’t need to buy the product.
In a one to one sales scenario, the salespeople sells past the close by giving too much info and actually undoes the sale.
You need to know when enough is enough.
Remember, in many cases, less is more.
Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
