While Kalia is on a girl’s weekend, I’m spending time in Springfield, MA, with my mom and dad.
Being in my old home brings back fond memories. It was in the same bed I slept last night that I dreamed of being a professional magician, read the writings of Edgar Allen Poe, listened to Rod Stewart records, and tried to work up the courage to ask “that” girl out.
I finally went on a date with “that” girl, became a professional magician, still love Rod’s music, and re-read Poe on occasion.
Anything and everything was possible when I visualized my future from that bed.
When was the last time you untethered your imagination from the confines of practicality and supposed wisdom that comes as we grow older and “know” all the reasons why we can’t do something or why it won’t work?
Gabriel García Márquez wrote, “It is not true that people stop pursuing dreams because they grow old; they grow old because they stop pursuing dreams.”
Something to think about this weekend.
Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
