Apples, Apples, Get Your Apples

Over the weekend, my parents and I went to a New England apple orchard from which they’d been buying apples for over fifty years. They went there before they were married!

Unfortunately, the type of apples Dad loved weren’t ripe yet and wouldn’t be ready for picking until late September. Mom and Dad will need to revise them to harvest their apples.

That’s a good metaphor for what it takes to get a consistent flow of clients.

Leads will set appointments with you when they are ready, but not on your timetable. That’s why it’s crucial you consistently follow up.

What a shame it is to invest time and money to get people interested in your service to raise their hands and show you that they have a problem you can solve, only to have a competitor harvest them when they are ripe to work with someone.

The ideal scenario is to use a lead magnet that attracts already ripe leads, gets them to schedule appointments immediately, and captures those who aren’t quite ready but will be at some point.
