Today’s DEEmail is short and sweet because we’re working hard to put the final touches on the upgraded Inner Sanctum VIP program.
Probably like you, I pay coaches and consultants for guidance. For example, Margaret Nagib is my spiritual/psychological coach, Robert Skrob is my membership program (Inner Sanctum VIP) consultant, and Luke Jermay is the consultant I’m working with to develop a new transformational entertainment show.
Luke gave a simple but powerful piece of advice in a video. He was talking about the creative process and writing scripts. He noted that creativity and editing are two different functions involving separate brain parts. However, technology has fused them into a single process with spelling and grammar checks built into word processing applications. Luke correctly pointed out that this stifles creativity.
The late great Gary Halbert taught that when writing the first draft of a sales letter, keep your pen moving and do not edit. He said to get your thoughts on paper first and then edit. But, of course, that’s easier to do using a pen and paper or a typewriter than when using Google Docs, MS Word, etc.
Luke’s solution was simple: turn off any spell check, grammar, or other editing tools during the creative process. When you’re ready to edit, turn them back on.
Following his advice will improve your productivity and help your creativity flow.
