A report from Sin City

The past three weeks have been a whirlwind.

First, I conducted a two day marketing bootcamp. Then I flew to Chicago and conducted a three-day $10,000 per person seminar. Then I jetted off to Las Vegas where I did my mind reading show and a platform sales presentation.

The show was good and very well received. It was nowhere near as “tight” as it used to be. I guess that comes with a three year lapse between performances.

The lesson is unless you are doing a ton of presentations, you need to rehearse them. The truth, though, is rehearsal is no substitute for being in front of a live audience.

The platform sales presentation also went well. I closed over 8% of the room on a $2,500 product. This might not seem impressive but I only had 60 minutes (which is not enough time) and the majority of the audience were very green business owners or people in search of a business. I didn’t have a perfect message to market match.

The lesson for you is, if your closing percentage isn’t where you think it should be (regardless of how you are selling) you might want to look at who you are trying to sell to. Are you attracted the right prospects. Even the best salespeople won’t crush it if they are speaking to the wrong audience.

Okay, it’s time for me to do my second round of yoga. I missed three days in a row and the old body is a bit stiff from all the travel.

Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
