A dirt-cheap strategy that takes a lot of work

Let me be clear; the strategy I’m sharing with you today is simple but not easy to execute. It takes a lot of work and energy. However, the results are worth it.

Yesterday, I told you about how we avoid a disaster with our live event. A webinar series was one of the strategies that helped us sell a large block of virtual tickets at the 11th hour.

In five days, we did five webinars, all with a different but related theme. Four of the five webinars had guest presenters. I only did one solo webinar and acted as the host and interviewer for the other ones.

If you sell a professional service, you easily adapt this strategy. For example, let’s say you are a financial advisor; you could create a webinar series around the theme of economic success in the new year and bring on different guests such as a tax attorney, an estate planning attorney, a CPA, etc. You should do one of the webinars yourself and be the host of the others.

With a webinar series, attendees only need to register one time and attend all of the webinars. They also receive email reminders before each webinar.

The marketing campaign is pretty simple. Three days before the series starts, email an invitation to your entire list. Then, the day before each webinar, send a solo email promoting that particular webinar. Your guests also email their lists. (That’s. a mega-tip, by the way.)

The call to action at the end of each webinar is the same. For us, it was selling virtual tickets. An advisor would offer a consultation.

The webinar series works like gangbusters if you’re willing to put in the work.

That was just one of our strategies to turn an impending business disaster into a profitable and successful event.
