A chance at semi-redemption

In the first DEEmail of the year, I talked about my Miami Dolphins’ humiliating performance last Sunday against the Ravens.

Well, their final regular season game is against the much-hated Buffalo Bills.

I’m hoping they beat the living crap out of the Bills and win the AFC East.

That game has meaning, but don’t they all?

There are no meaningless games or presentations for a professional.

In the past, I’ve done webinars when only a handful of people had shown up. It can be discouraging when that happens, and it takes a lot of “mental maneuvering” to get fired up to do a bang-up performance. But, you know what? The audience (fans) who did show up deserve the best you have to give. Heck, you owe it to yourself to perform at the highest level regardless of circumstances.

As someone who teaches how to master the art and science of one-to-many selling, one of the most frustrating things is how quickly people give up at the first sign of adversity. They “try” to do a webinar, and maybe the attendance is low, or they don’t convert as well as they want, and that’s it. It’s game over. They quit and think, “Webinars don’t work.”

The problem is the word “try.” Instead of having the mindset, “I will master this because once I do, I’ll have the power to create clients on-demand,” they hope for instant success and gratification.

Think about every presentation you do as an opportunity to practice your technique and perfect your performance. By doing that, you’ll attain a level of mastery that lesser mortals will never realize. The result will be more clients and higher profits.

Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
