As you might know, I love horror movies. So, since Karen is out of town, I’m going to the movies to watch two of them.
In case you’re wondering, my two favorite horror movies I watched this year are “The Dark & The Wicked” and “Host.” “Host” was filmed on Zoom and it’s excellent. Both of those films are available on Amazon Prime.
In many horror movies, someone is left alone to battle a monster or some evil force. Typically, someone else comes along to help defeat the sinister entity. (Although, the trend in most non-mainstream horror movies is not to have a happy ending. I think that’s cool.)
What’s as scary is an entrepreneur who has big goals but is trying to achieve them independently. This person tries to put up their website, do their marketing, close sales themselves, take care of customer service, and on and on. Then, they get frustrated because they can’t get ahead. Finally, they burn out because they are doing so many different things that fall outside their areas of genius.
In the truly excellent book, “Who Not How,” Dan Sullivan talks about the importance of asking the question, “Who can do this for me?” instead of “How can I do this.”
Hey, we’re practicing what we preach. Karen and I just hired another outsourced talent to take control of our Facebook marketing. He’s not cheap, but he’s supposed to be one of the best. We’ll see.
The point is, you don’t have to, nor should you, go it alone. Hiring the right top outsourced people and inspiring them to work for your business as if they own it can accelerate your growth so rapidly that it’s scary.
