Happy Friday, kemosabe.
It’s smoking hot here in Austin. Yesterday it was 104 degrees at 6:00 PM. I need to get back to Atlanta to cool off!
Today I’m speaking at my client and friend Michael Rozbruch’s “Success Summit.” I’ll be teaching and, of course, selling. I love being on stage, so today is going to be awesome.
After I do yoga, I’m going to rehearse. When I rehearse, I imagine an audience in front of me and go through the presentation as if I was doing it live from start to finish without stopping.
Rehearsal is mission critical for delivering an excellent “performance.” It doesn’t matter if that performance is on stage, in a webinar, selling one-on-one, or over the telephone.
When is the last time you rehearsed your performance? If you have a sales team, do you plan regular “rehearsal” times for them? How about the person who answers your phone? Are they rehearsing with the phone script you provided for them? (You did give them a phone script, right?)
Yes, I know this is fundamental stuff but we all, myself included, often forget about the fundamentals because we’re distracted by bright-shiny new objects.
Have a dynamite weekend.
