I do some form of yoga daily. Sometimes it’s a full sixty-minute practice, more likely, twenty to thirty minutes.
There are days that I miss. And you know what? My body feels fine. (Now, if I was just lazy and didn’t practice, I feel lousy mentally.)
But, if I skip two days in a row, I definitely can feel it. Slight aches and pains start emerging. I feel stiff.
Of course, when I get back on the mat, the initial exercises are more challenging to do, I’m not as flexible, and quite frankly, some of the postures don’t feel great. But, as the practice continues, I feel better and better.
It’s very much the same with selling. When you are first using new techniques, you will find them difficult. You will feel stiff in your delivery. Some might feel downright uncomfortable to use.
The more you do it though, the better it flows and the more sales you close.
The more you sell, the better you get at selling. And the more you enjoy it. Not just the money, but the entire process. And not only enjoyable for you, but for your prospects as well. When are in the flow, your prospect relaxes into it because they know they are in the hands of a pro.
If you don’t like selling, it’s probably because you’re not good at it or you’ve been taught techniques that don’t feel good to you.
Remember this: There is no more noble work than selling a product or service to someone who needs it and who you can help. So “get on the mat” every day, and get good at it.
Have a great weekend.
