If you’re running ads, sending emails, or doing anything to generate leads, but you’re not getting the high-quality prospects you want…
Chances are, something’s off.
Use this Lead Gen Reality Check to find and fix the weak spots in your marketing:
- Is your message attracting the right people—and repelling the wrong ones?
Your marketing should speak directly to your ideal prospect while clarifying who isn’t a good fit. Trying to appeal to everyone means you resonate with no one.
- Are you using the right media to target your ideal prospects?
Just because everyone and their mother are running Facebook ads doesn’t necessarily mean you should. The best media depends on where your audience already is—email, LinkedIn, direct mail, etc.
- Does your ad have a clear, compelling call to action?
“Learn more” or “Click here” isn’t enough. Tell them exactly what to do next and why. For example: “Download the free guide to see if you qualify.”
- If you’re driving traffic to an opt-in page, does it match the ad that got them to click?
If the landing page message feels slightly different from the ad, you lose trust. Keep everything consistent—headline, promise, even the wording.
- Are you capturing leads in a way that allows for follow-up?
Getting clicks is great, but are you getting their contact information so you can continue the conversation? If not, you’re leaving DEEnero on the table.
- Is there a nurture sequence in place?
Not everyone buys immediately. Without an email sequence to keep leads engaged, lead generation becomes an expense instead of a capital investment (credit to Dean Jackson for that).
Your action step:
Pick one of these problem areas and fix it today. Not next week, not “when you have time.”
Small tweaks make a big difference when it comes to generating high-quality leads that actually convert.
Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
