Kalia and I stumbled upon a little gem in Chiang Mai that turned out to be one of my favorite dining experiences here: Miss Ju.
Tucked away off the beaten path, it’s the kind of place you’d only find if you knew where to look—or if you got lucky as we did. No flashy signs or crowds of tourists, just locals enjoying plate after plate of incredible food.
And the food? Oh, it lived up to the hype. Fresh spring rolls, flavorful curries, perfectly stir-fried vegetables, and desserts that were small slices of bliss. All of that, plus drinks, for just $14.
What really made it special wasn’t just the food—it was the experience.
Miss Ju herself didn’t speak much English, but that didn’t matter. She had her recommended dishes printed on the cover of the menu, and her system worked like a charm. We pointed, she nodded, and soon we were feasting.
It felt personal and authentic, like we were part of something special.
This got me thinking about how a lot of people feel about selling.
Many business owners think they dislike selling because they’ve been taught to see it as pushy or awkward—like forcing someone into a choice they didn’t want to make.
But selling doesn’t have to feel that way.
Take a lesson from Miss Ju: Selling is about creating an experience where your prospect feels understood, cared for, and guided.
Even with her limited English, Miss Ju made it easy for us to enjoy our meal by offering clear choices that matched what we were looking for.
That’s what selling is all about—helping people find the solution that fits them best.
You don’t have to speak perfectly or put on a hard sell. You just need to listen to your prospects, understand their needs, and make it simple for them to say yes.
When you approach selling like that, it doesn’t feel like a chore. It feels like service.
And if you do it well, you’ll leave your prospects just as satisfied as we were leaving Miss Ju’s, dreaming of the next feast.
Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
