Silver Temple Magic

Yesterday, Kalia and I visited the breathtaking Silver Temple in Chiang Mai, also known as Wat Sri Suphan. Let me tell you, it’s unlike any other temple I’ve seen.

The intricate silverwork covering the walls glimmers in the sunlight, and every detail tells a story. It’s a place so rich in artistry and history, you can’t help but feel a deep connection to the people who built it and the stories they wanted to share.

What struck me most was how the artisans didn’t just create something beautiful—they created something meaningful. And that’s because they understood the emotional needs of those who came to the temple: a sense of awe, peace, and connection.

It’s a lot like sales.

When you’re in a consultation, it’s not enough to present your solution and hope it resonates. To truly connect with your prospect, you need to understand their story, their struggles, and what they’re hoping to achieve.

And the only way to do that is by asking the right questions.

It’s not just about surface-level questions like, “What’s your biggest challenge?” It’s about digging deeper to uncover the emotions behind their answers.

For example, instead of stopping at, “Why do you want to grow your business?” ask, “What would achieving that growth mean for your family?” Or, “How would it feel to finally have that level of success you’ve been working toward?”

These kinds of questions help you uncover what’s truly driving them. Is it financial security? Freedom to spend more time with their loved ones? Recognition for their hard work?

When you understand your prospect’s emotional needs, you can position your solution as more than just a service—you can position it as the bridge to the life they want.

Just like the artisans at the Silver Temple didn’t create beauty for beauty’s sake, you’re not selling a solution for the sake of selling. You’re helping your prospect create something meaningful in their life, and that starts with understanding what they truly need.

The Silver Temple is a reminder that when you dig deeper and connect on an emotional level, the results aren’t just impressive—they’re transformative.
