This pissed me off

I watched a training video the other day that pissed me off.

The “guru” was doing a marketing lecture for entertainers. He said, and I quote, “It’s okay to lie in marketing.”

Come again?

He told the viewers to put logos of Fortune 500 companies on their websites even if they haven’t performed for the month. Want credibility? Say you were on American’s Got Talent, even if you never were. Performing for wealthy people? It’s perfectly fine to wear a knock-off Rolex.

Good God, man.

Entrepreneurs with a long-term track record care about their customers and products and do whatever they can within ETHICAL bounds to close the sale.

There’s no need to stretch the truth if you deliver shock ‘n awe results for your clients.

Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
