We have a lovely Christmas decoration that sits on a small, beautiful glass table.
Earlier this week, I rushed to go outside to help Kalia with something she was doing and knocked over the table. I could have saved the decoration or the table, but I tried to do both at the same time.
The relatively inexpensive decoration was spared, and the expensive table met its demise. Dr. Dee was not in good Christmas cheer.
I realized that the whole sequence was a metaphor for the past few months of my life.
We moved to Florida, had to stay in two separate rental properties, and finally moved into our new home, and I started multiple new business ventures.
While doing different things is fine, trying to do them all at the same time can be problematic.
Choosing what’s most important to focus on and slowing down at times are major pieces to the success puzzle.
Had I focused and slowed down a new glass table wouldn’t be on order.
How about you? Are there areas of your life you could improve by focusing on the majors instead of the minors and by slowing down to give yourself time to think?
Kick butt, make mucho DEEnero!
