Something to think about this weekend
I’m going to ask you a serious question:
Are your goals really *your* goals?
For many people, their goals have actually been set by the expectations of other people – not from what they really desire. And, if this is the case, it is going to be difficult, if not impossible, to reach those goals.
Other people set goals based upon what they think they should want. (The key words are “think” and “should.”) The problem with this is that if your goals do not come from who you are at your core, you will be in a constant battle with yourself and, if you do achieve your goals, you’ll be unsatisfied.
The guy says, “I want to make a million dollars a year, run a gigantic company and be famous.” These are all admirable goals if they are really his. But, if at his core he really wants to live a simple, peaceful life and be a yoga instructor, he is going to struggle to be happy.
So who are you really? And what do you really want?
This is deep thinking stuff that most people never engage in. Give it some thought over this weekend. It’s not easy to do, but isn’t your life worth it?
