A vile movie…
I love to watch movies and have been watching a lot of them
lately. (My recent favorite is “The Messenger.”)
I recently saw one of the worst movies ever: “Texas Chainsaw
Massacre-The Beginning.” This was a vile piece of crap with no
social or entertainment value. It was a waste of an hour and 30
minutes of my life.
Don’t get me wrong, I love horror movies but ones that
actually scare you instead of just grossing you out or
provide “shock” value. The people who make this junk are
only out to make a quick buck and don’t give a hoot about
quality or their customers.
That’s why “Texas Chainsaw” (not the original – that was a
classic) and their ilk die very quick box office deaths even
though the marketing for these films is intense. It’s tough to
fool the public for very long.
In your business, you need to juggle offering a great
product or service with great marketing. One cannot survive
without the other for a long period of time.
The guy who spends all his time doing superior marketing but
then delivers an inferior product will be out of business
before he knows it. Conversely, the person who spends all
their time on creating the best product or service but no
time on marketing because he thinks “the best product wins”
will also be in the same boat.
A quality product that people want coupled with superior
marketing is a surefire formula for success.
As always, your comments are welcome.

PS. Later this week, I’m going to be having a sale on what I
consider one of my finest products and something that every
business owner needs. (Hint: It has to do with email marketing.)
Be on the lookout for it.
