Okay, kids before we head off into the weekend, I want to give you give you one of the biggest secrets to a successful product launch. It can be explained in three short words:
SET THE DATE
When someone hires me to help them with their product launch one of the first things we do is calendar the date when it is going to occur. And I have them set the date sooner, rather than later. In fact every time I have done this, my client feels uncomforable and nervous. They will often say, “There is no way I will be ready by then!” Ah, but you will grasshopper, you will.
Setting a short deadline automatically increases the intensity, focuses your work, and creates a dynamic internal energy. It is a driver.
When Alexis came to Atlanta for her full day consultation, I had her commit to a date six weeks out. She had no list, no marketing materials, and no copy. She was nervous but guess what: six weeks later we launch and she is $117,000 richer.
So when you set the date for your product launch make sure it is short enough to really stretch you and make you nervous.
