Anatomy Of A Successful Product Launch – Part 2

I just finished a brief meeting with my new personal assistant and she ROCKS! I can’t believe it took me so long to pull the trigger on getting a personal assistant. If you don’t have one, get one. It will free up so much of your time and energy and he/she will actually end up making you more money.

Okay, today we’re going to move into phase two of a successful product launch: Creating your strategic launch plan. When someone hires me to help them with their launch, we have a half day to full day consultation to develop this strategic plan.  Remember this:

Your strategic plan is the foundation of your success.

The first thing you need to do is to clearly define who your target market is.  Make sure to answer this question:

“Who exactly is your ideal client?”

If you don’t have this crystal clear in your mind before you start creating your marketing plan, you will flounder. I have a specific procedure I take my clients through so they know everything about their ideal client on a very deep level. Even some of the savviest marketers I’ve worked with have not defined their ideal client to the level that it needs to be done.

During this planning phase there are many things you need to do including:

  • How and where you are going to lead generate.
  • What your lead generation magnet(s) are going to be.
  • How you are going to market to your list. Ex. Are you going to use emails, direct mail, video, teleseminars, affiliates, and so on?
  • The timeline for when all of your marketing is going to take place.

There is more that goes into the strategic plan, but that is good to get you started.

Here’s something important to remember:

Your strategic plan needs to be a living, breathing document – not something set in stone. More than likely you will make adjustments to your plan along the way, but having a written strategic plan is necessary to get you off the ground and headed in the right direction.

Tomorrow, I’m going to give you one of the BIGGEST secrets to a successful product launch that can be explained in three short words.

Kick butt, make mucho “DEE-nero!”

P.S., The response to the free strategy session with me has been incredible. In fact, so much so that I need to cut it off soon. So all applications must be completed and turned in by Tuesday at 5:00 PM ET – no exceptions. If you are a serious information marketer or are serious about getting into the information marketing business and would like to apply for a strategy session with me, email Chelsea@davedee.co. (Please note that this is an application process and that not everyone who applies will necessarily get a strategy session.)
