Become a Mind-Reader
Tomorrow I’m going to hit the stage to announce my new program, “Your Online Marketing Magic Kit.” I’ve had this baby waiting in the wings for some
time now and I can’t hardly wait for the show to begin.
Today, however, I’m going to give you one more tidbit of smart business alakazam – it focuses on the most important person in your economic audience.
Your customer.
Before you even start planning any kind of online strategy, you need to have a clear customer in mind. In fact, you need to literally become a “Mind-Reader” when it comes to knowing your customer.
Not doing this is a huge mistake many businesses make. But if you don’t know who you’re trying to help with your business, how can you effectively market the message that you can solve their problems?
Before you do anything with your online strategy make sure you can answer these kinds of questions.
- Who exactly are you trying to reach via the internet?
- What problem do they have in mind that they want to solve?
- Why are they using the internet to solve this problem?
And don’t stop there. Keep asking yourself questions about your customer…
Are they going to look for you on the internet in the morning? For example, if it’s a mom at work is she going to be browsing during her breaks or lunch hour?
Really think about what’s going through their heads.
For example, what words do you think they’ll use when they’re searching for you?
If someone is looking for you, think about what would they type in that Google search box to solve that problem. What do you think is most important to them right now?
So make sure you get inside your customer’s head in a big way before taking your first step online.
